SPIRITUALITY IS SOMETHING YOU LIVE
People come to me looking for something they each describe differently. Some call it success, some call it connection, and some call it spirituality. Many simply want more joy, or for life to stop feeling like such hard work. In my experience they’re all reaching for the same thing: a life that flows, and a quiet sense of being guided rather than pushed.
WHAT I MEAN BY SPIRITUAL
To me, spirituality is your connection to yourself, to the people around you, and to something larger than all of us. It shows in how you live. It’s in how you treat people, how they feel after time with you, and whether you can hear that inner voice that knows what’s right for you before you’ve thought it through.
That inner voice is intuition, and everything I believe about spirituality begins there.
THE FINE LINE
There’s a fine line between intuition and anxiety, and most people have been taught to confuse the two.
Anxiety is loud. It’s urgent, it builds a case, and it pushes you to act now. It arrives with a story and leaves you drained.
Intuition is quiet. It arrives whole and calm, without urgency, and it doesn’t need to argue with you. It simply knows.
While your fight or flight response is running, intuition can’t reach you. The alarm takes up all the space, and anxiety starts dressing itself up as your inner knowing. People make some of the biggest decisions of their lives this way, convinced they’re following their gut, when what they’re following is fear.
WHY THE WORK BEGINS WITH YOUR NERVOUS SYSTEM
This is why I don’t start with spiritual practice. First we calm the responses your mind keeps setting off, and then we release what your body has been holding for years. Until both of those have settled, there’s simply too much noise for your intuition to be heard.
Clearing the noise is the spiritual work. Once your system is calm, your intuition comes back, and with it a trust in yourself that many people haven’t felt since they were children.
WHEN YOU CAN HEAR IT AGAIN
Life starts to move differently. Decisions feel clear rather than agonising. The right people appear at the right time, and you notice the moments of synchronicity that were always there but went unseen while you were on alert. You stop chasing, because you can feel where you’re meant to go next, and opportunities you’d walked past for years suddenly become obvious.
Each time you ask yourself what your next step is, the answer comes from that quiet place rather than from fear.
WHAT YOU PUT OUT COMES BACK
As you change, you carry that calm into every room you enter. People feel it. You become more discerning about who you let close, and more generous with those who give back. What you put out begins to change who you attract, and better quality people bring a better quality of life with them.
A MOMENT OF PRESENCE
You don’t need to sit in silence for an hour to connect with yourself. I ask everyone I work with to bring one focused ritual into their day: making tea, a walk at the same time each morning, lighting a candle before you rest. One moment where you’re completely present. Over time your body learns that this moment means calm, and that’s where intuition speaks most clearly.
That’s what I mean by spiritual. It’s a life guided from within, and one you share with the people you love.
